Spring and hungry snails!

Spring is finally here and we're trying to make best of it!

I really love pansies.Unfortunately, snails consider them a tasty snack! I live in a rainy area so snails are a big problem. I don't use any chemicals in my garden so here are few eco ideas how to get rid of snails and slugs:

1) Add tea spoon of coffee to water and spray your plants with it (but remember to keep an eye on your plants, some of them just don't like it).
2)Lay out some egg shells, grid, edgy stones around your plants or sprinkle ash around them.
3)Dig a hole, put deep container in it,pour beer into the container. Smell of beer will attract the snails. Soon they will be trapped in the container.
4) Surround your flower pots with wire.
5) Till garden soil frequently.
6) Pick up as much snails as you can and release them away from your garden (you can lay out cabbage leafs to attract them). Snails do not like to eat: thyme, lemon thyme, oregano, camomile, sage, onion and garlic. If you have eco friendly garden ideas please share them with me :)
