Home remedies - common cold

Home remedies - common cold.

Homemade common cold remedies. Use what you have at home to prevent and treat common cold at home.

**Garlic, milk and honey**
2 teaspoons of honey, 2 garlic gloves (greated or chopped), hot milk (1 mug). Mix it and drink it if you dare ;) It doesn't taste good and it smells awful, but it works!

**Onion juice**
4 onions , 1 cup of sugar,1 lemon, 2 teaspoons of honey. Put chopped onions and sugar into the jar. Leave it for around 8 hrs. Add honey and lemon juice. Mix it until well blended. Put jar in the fridge and use it in the next 2 weeks.

**Tea with honey and cinnamon**
Add 1 tablespoon of honey and 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon to your tea. Drink twice/three times a day.

**Ginger tea**
You will need fresh ginger, water, 2 teaspoons of honey. Cut fresh ginger into thin slices. You can find some advice how to do it here. Put ginger into the medium pot, add 2 glasses of water , cover it and cook it on a small fire for about 10 minutes. Leave it to cool a bit and  add honey. Stir it and drink it while it's still warm.

** Sage tea for sore throat**
You can buy sage tea or fresh sage leaves in almost every supermarket.Prepare it just as you would prepare ordinary tea. Add sugar if preferable. Drink it twice a day.It will relieve the pain but it could also upset your tummy, so remember to eat some yogurt afterwards.

** Fresh chilly** Add fresh, chopped Chili to a hot soup. Chili kills the bacteria. It's a perfect remedy for sore throat and running nose.

For ADULTS only:

**Camomile inhalation treatment-for running nose and breathing difficulties **
You will need comomile tea or fresh cut camomile ,water ,one large towel, large plastic bowl. Boil two kettles of water. Pour water into a bowl and throw some camomile tea bags into the water . Leave it for a minute or two. Place bowl on a coffee table. Lean over the steaming bowl (you can sit down or kneel ),the closer your face gets to the bowl the better! But do it slowly, be very careful, don't let steam burn you. Now put towel over your head and breathe slowly. Allow yourself to sweat, let your nose run. I know it's gross but it's very effective. It will clean your air passages and help you breath. It will also clean pores but it might dry your skin so remember to use face toner and moisturizing  cream afterwards. Do the treatment just before bedtime. Reamain under towel as long as you can or as long as the water is hot.

**Tea with vodka** Add one shot of vodka to your tea.
**Warm wine**  Warm your wine in the pot (don't let it boil!), add some cloves or cinnamon.
**Grog** Mix the rum, fresh squeezed lime juice, brown sugar, and hot water in a mug.
